Leon Jack Austin (Jack) passed away on September 25, 2018, in the peaceful and loving embrace of his wife Faith Joy.

Jack was born in Fairgrove, Michigan, on February 7, 1931 to Lola and Clayton (Pat) Austin. From 1952 to 1954, he served in Germany with the 201st Artillery, 7th Army during the Korean War. After his service, he married the love of his life, Faith Joy Densmore on New Year's Eve, 1954. They married at First United Methodist Church in Fairgrove, and raised four children, Melodie Ann, Larry Mark, Jamie Lois, and Mitchell John. The Austins moved to Bradenton, Florida in 1973, where Jack worked as a residential contractor for forty years. After retirement, Jack and Faith enjoyed traveling, exercising, and visiting with their children and grandchildren.

A great man of God, Jack's faith brought him tremendous strength. He was also a man of remarkable character and is fondly remembered as being compassionate, witty, gracious, humorous, courageous, and loving. Jack and Faith attended Trinity United Methodist Church in Bradenton, Florida.

Jack is survived by his wife Faith Joy, his daughters, Melodie Austin Ranisavljevic and Jamie Austin Cortiaus, and his sons, Larry Austin and Mitch Austin, and grandchildren, Michele Fiyak-Burkley, Michael Fiyak, Stephen Cortiaus, Jacky Cortiaus, Wesley Cortiaus, Amye Cortiaus, Emma Cortiaus, and Toni Austin. Additionally they are survived by four great-grandchildren.

The interment will take place at Sarasota National Cemetery.
